A massive cyclone has hit coastal Orissa,Bengal and parts of Andhra Pradesh. In the history of Orissa this is indeed one of the worst natural disasters and is truly a national calamity. Several hundred people were feared killed , over 10 million were affected . Super cyclone with a velocity of more than 160 miles/hr battered 10 coastal districts of Orissa for more than eight hours . More than 200,000 houses have been destroyed and vast tracts in the coastal areas submerged. Over 5000 people have lost their lives and thousands have been rendered homeless.
